Leather: The leather used in making these collars is full grain leather tanned in the USA.
Burgundy Latigo Leather
- This latigo leather has a luxurious feel and finish while keeping it's ruggedness and water resistance. This particular hide comes out to be .25" thick when the collar is fully assembled and the two layers are stitched together. It is perfect for a lighter weight collar for working dogs or pet dogs that want a rugged collar that can handle the elements and look classy while doing it.
Black Harness Leather
- This harness leather is a good looking straight forward NO BS leather that has a rugged feel to it due to the leather being stuffed with waxes and oils at the tannery which give it the water resistance and durability to handle the toughest elements thrown at it. The current thickness available for this leather is more than a quarter inch thick, coming in at .32" thick after both layers are stitched together. This is a very rugged and rigid collar.
These collars are hand stitched with the stitch line running down a groove that allows for the stitching to lay beneath the surface of the leather, protecting the stitching from excessive wear, tear, and abrasion. Not only does the hand stitching have incredible strength because each and every stitch needs to be cut in order to separate the two layers, but it is easy to repair if need be (contact directly for repairs).
